Host Family
A Host Family, as indicated by the name is the common name for a family that hosts an international Au Pair or a student. When a Host Family hosts an Au Pair their intention is for the Au Pair to take care of the children (often sole charge) as well as help with light housework and general cleaning.
A Host Family needs to comply with the agencies guidelines and expectations as well as ensure that they provide a loving and safe home for their Au Pair. The Host Families responsibility is also to ensure that they comply with the minimum wage act as well as local tax and visa regulations as well as any other rules and legislation which apply.
