Au Pair
An Au Pair (plural: au pairs) is a foreign-national domestic assistant working for, and living as part of, a host family. An Au Pair’s primary duty is to take care of the children in the family as well as help with some general house work. In return the Au Pair receives a weekly stipend as well as full room and board.
The title comes from the French term au pair, meaning "on a par" or "equal to", indicating that the relationship is intended to be one of equals: the au pair is intended to become a member of the family. Through being an Au Pair you are given the opportunity to learn about another culture and family as well as share your culture with a family.
