Au Pair Salary
The Au Pair salary varies from agency to agency, most reputable agencies recommend that Au Pairs are paid a minimum of $180 for up to 40 hours of work as this complies with international regulations. While an Au Pair is considered an informal form of childcare they should still be remunerated in accordance with the minimum wage act and any agency which does not comply with this will be excluded from membership in the New Zealand Au Pair Association.
